Constructed on a raised laterite plinth using burnt bricks, it was erected to enshrine Lord Madan Mohan following the royal family's devotion to Gaudiya Vaishnavism. The structure stands as a paramount example of medieval Bengal's Eka-Ratna architecture.

- The temple features a single square tower mounted on a curved Bengal chala roof, enclosed within high brick walls. Its exterior walls are profusely embellished with exquisite terracotta plaques depicting episodes from the Ramayana, Mahabharata, Puranas, and Krishnalila.
