  • Forming the northern half of the Twin Tirupati (Irattai Tirupati) complex, this temple was built by Pandyan monarchs and expanded under Madurai Nayak rule. Legend links the site to Sage Suprabha who found a sacred bow and wooden scale that transformed into a divine couple upon Lord Vishnu's grace.

Significance

  • As one of the twin shrines at Tholaivillimangalam, Devapiran Temple represents the shadow planet Rahu in Nava Tirupati tradition. Hymned by Nammalvar in eleven verses, the temple offers spiritual refuge against planetary afflictions and karmic burdens.
