- The Jor Bangla Temple, also known as the Keshta Rai Temple, was built in 1655 CE by the Malla King Raghunath Singha Dev in the royal capital of Bishnupur. The temple was designed to reflect the classic thatch-roofed double-hut (do-chala) vernacular architecture of rural Bengal, translated into structural brick and terracotta. It stands today as one of the best-preserved monuments under the protection of the Archaeological Survey of India.

- The temple represents the pinnacle of terracotta ornamentation, with every square inch of its brick facade covered in detailed clay panels. These carvings depict scenes from the Ramayana, the Mahabharata, the life of Lord Krishna, and contemporary 17th-century royal lifestyle and trade.
