- Kankalitala Temple is an ancient Shakta pilgrimage site situated along the banks of the Kopai River near Bolpur. While the physical structure is modest and was rebuilt in modern times, the location holds centuries of spiritual veneration. Significance
- According to Hindu mythology, Kankalitala is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas where Goddess Sati's waist or pelvis fell.
