- The historic Jogulamba Temple was originally constructed in the 7th century CE under the patronage of the Badami Chalukyas, forming part of the sacred Navabrahma temple complex. The original structure was heavily damaged during the military campaigns of the Bahmani Sultanate in the 14th century, with the deity being temporarily relocated. The temple was reconstructed and consecrated in its modern form in 2005 through community and government efforts.

- As the fifth of the eighteen Maha Shakti Peethas, Alampur Jogulamba Temple is a highly revered Shakta pilgrimage site representing the upper teeth of Sati. The goddess is worshipped in an intense form, seated on a corpse, with lizard, scorpion, and bat motifs adorning the shrine, symbolizing her power over decay and negative forces. The temple is situated at the confluence of the sacred Tungabhadra and Krishna rivers, adding to its spiritual purity.
