ॐ शुक्ल-अम्बर-धरं विष्णुं शशि-वर्णं चतुर्भुजम् । प्रसन्न-वदनं ध्यायेत् सर्व-विघ्न-उपशान्तये ॥ १ ॥ ॐ शुक्लाम्बरधरं विष्णुं शशिवर्णं चतुर्भुजम् । प्रसन्नवदनं ध्यायेत् सर्वविघ्नोपशान्तये ॥ १ ॥
oṁ śuklāmbaradharaṁ viṣṇuṁ śaśivarṇaṁ caturbhujam | prasannavadanaṁ dhyāyet sarvavighnopaśāntaye || 1 ||
"One should meditate upon Vishnu, clad in white garments, moon-hued, four-armed, and with a serene face, for the pacification of all obstacles."
The Vishnu Sahasranama from the Anushasana Parva of the Mahabharata contains 1000 names of Lord Vishnu — each a complete mantra, each a complete universe. Transmitted by Bhishma to Yudhishthira on his deathbed, it is one of the most recited texts in the Bharatiya tradition.
